Public spaces are often seen as inclusive, democratic places where all belong. They can also be places where different values, needs, and priorities in a community are put next to each other. This video explores why public spaces are important in Chinatown, and how welcoming places can be created for people to come together, while also honouring the culture and heritage of a neighbourhood. Carmut Me, Wilco van Bemmel, and June Chow speak about placemaking initiatives in Chinatown, and share more about their aspirations for future public space efforts in the neighbourhood.
